Deadly Ponies' advertising is editorial and architecture-forward — bags are presented as design objects rather than functional accessories. The brand's distinctive hardware and structural forms make product photography self-evidently premium. Browse Deadly Ponies ads on AdLibrary to study NZ luxury leather goods advertising.
Instagram is the brand's primary digital channel — architectural leather goods photography performs exceptionally in feed and Explore. Facebook targets NZ and AU designer accessories buyers. New season collection drops and limited-edition colourways drive campaign bursts.
Core copy themes: supple ethically-sourced leather, architectural design (bags as 'coveted works of art'), New Zealand craft heritage, and the founder's self-taught design story. Copy is minimal — the product imagery carries the brand argument.
Deadly Ponies demonstrates that a genuine craft origin story — literally made in a garage, self-taught from scratch — becomes a premium brand narrative that luxury fashion houses cannot replicate. Authenticity of origin is a moat in the accessible luxury accessories market.
