See all ads on AdLibrary →Amer Sports is a Finnish sports equipment and apparel conglomerate that owns some of the world's most premium outdoor brands including Arc'teryx, Salomon, Wilson, and Atomic. Acquired by Chinese sportswear company Anta Sports in 2019, the group is building centralised DTC infrastructure while each brand maintains its own identity and marketing. Also searched as Amer.
Amer Sports operates a portfolio advertising model — each brand (Arc'teryx, Salomon, Wilson) runs independent campaigns with its own identity while sharing backend DTC infrastructure. The parent brand rarely advertises to consumers directly. Premium positioning and athlete ambassador programs define each sub-brand's strategy. Explore brand activity at AdLibrary.
Individual brands (Arc'teryx particularly) have some of the most sophisticated social advertising programs in outdoor — combining premium lifestyle photography with performance DTC conversion. Salomon's trail running content dominates social in Europe. Wilson runs US-focused sports performance campaigns.
At portfolio level, themes include premium performance, innovation, and authentic outdoor/sport expertise. Each sub-brand has its own voice: Arc'teryx is minimalist and technical; Salomon is adventurous and trail-forward; Wilson is sports-performance driven. Authenticity across elite sport is the shared thread.
Amer Sports demonstrates the power of brand portfolio management — acquiring category leaders and letting them maintain independent identities while centralising operational infrastructure. The lesson for multi-brand marketers: shared back-end, separate front-ends. Resist the temptation to merge brand voices; let each community remain loyal to its own identity.
